Many of us want to get healthy, and lose some extra poundage that may have crept up on us during the last year or so (in my case the last ten years). Some of us will go cold turkey, and try to restrict or change everything at once.

Some of us will make a gradual change to healthier choices in our meal plans and start exercising more.

There are as many ways to lose weight as there are people trying to lose the weight, and many do succeed in the short term. Are you ready to hear about my one weight loss tip that is wildly successful?

Who says that you have to starve yourself while losing weight?

Not with low carb meal plans, you don’t. That is why I find this Paleo way of eating so easy to live with.

This is what we are had for our early dinner meal tonight. We picked up two steaks at the butchers earlier. (Porterhouse Steak in the before and after pics.)

Low Carb Grilled Stuffed Green Peppers Recipe

assorted-bell-peppersI have included this as a cheat meal, but there are so few carbs involved that you could really use this as a regular menu item in your program.

Great recipe for stuffed green peppers on the grill, from The BBQ Pit Boys. They include a baked potato side, but another low starch veggie would be better.

They do not use rice in this recipe but they do have bread crumbs in small amounts for texture on top.

The bread crumbs are not a necessary ingredient if you don’t want to use them. In fact if you used any nut or seed flour. it would become very low carb.

Sausage, ground beef, and your favorite shredded cheese are the only ‘food’ ingredients beside the spices.

Salt, pepper, tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, and if you want some hot pepper flakes are all you need. Of course, you’ll need the bbq to grill them on. 🙂

Only prepared one liter of watermelon water for drinking today, blended not steeped.

I actually blended the watermelon and then added more water to dilute it down.

Plain water for the rest of the day.

I find that watermelon doesn’t hold it’s flavour very long once the oxygen hits it so I don’t prepare it much in advance.

I had half of a cantaloupe before breakfast, and then hard poached eggs, mashed with butter, and no coffee this morning, just my watermelon water.

Lunch consisted of a ham, cheese and tomato plate late in the afternoon so it doubled as both lunch and snack.ham-cheese-tomato-lunch

I was not very hungry for dinner so I just had a plate chicken wings.

The thai chile sauce I had planned to dip them in, was too sweet so I ended up leaving it.

Plain water with my meal, and had a coffee with cream to finish off the night.

sausage-and-eggs-breakfastJust realized that today marks one month that I have been on this particular weight loss plan.

No wonder that it is starting to feel pretty comfortable…

I’m down just about fifteen pounds from 314 to 299 this morning. I am literally bouncing off the wall to see that ‘299’ come up on the scales.

I haven’t been below the three hundred mark in recent memory. 🙂

Steeped green tea in two liters of water in the refrigerator all night for drinking during the day today. I always have to make sure that I get my quota of H2O…

ham-and-pickle-lettuce-wrapSo for today’s food log, I started off with Breakfast that consisted of grill ’ems sausage, two fried eggs in butter, coffee w/ cream, and a glass of plain water.

Lunch was pretty simple. Made up two ham and pickle lettuce wraps, sipped on some green tea water, and had some mixed nuts to snack on through the afternoon.

For Dinner tonight, I cooked up some side pork, and brussels sprouts in garlic butter, and drank a glass of freshly blended vanilla-almond milk. Delish!

After dinner, I finished the night having a coffee with cream and stevia.

I have to say that I really haven’t felt hungry all month. I skipped a couple of meals, and I haven’t executed perfectly, but I have stayed pretty close on the plan.

I think that I probably could have planned a few more cheat meals but I am not missing any particular foods. I have never been much for sweets. Processed salty snacks were more my downfall… Onwards and upwards…or in this case with my weight, onwards and downwards. 🙂
